this is not a 24v trimmer. It is a 48v trimmer that requires two 24v batteries.

Decent specs and price, and can't wait for EGO sale any longer. Heard support is spotty with difficult to reach and long wait on phone.

there are certain things you can do to lower the price

you open an account, like their pages on different social media, get further credit to add towards this purchase, and unlike later afterwards

Recently purchased a blower from Greenworks. They sent me the wrong battery... 2aH instead of the advertised 4aH. A quick online chat with a follow-up Email requesting pics of the battery serial number and they shipped the correct battery out immediately. I even got to keep the 2aH battery..A+ customer service in my case.

I have an older model the auto spool fails all the time to the extent that I now hate line trimmers

I'm new to gardening equipment and the greenworks brand. I could use a trimmer right now - should i buy this and then buy the mower later when it goes on sale? Or will i likely end up with different voltage batteries?
Or should i wait and try to buy a combo mower and trimmer kit that use the same voltage battery?

You will end up with different batteries if you get this. I could use a trimmer too, but 24V is kinda on the low end. I have the Greenworks 21" 80V mower with 4.0Ah batteries and I don't think I would want to go any lower than that.

Do you mean with Greenworks support? I have not have a good experience with Ego. The mower is fine for the past 2.5 years, but the string trimmer ST1620T's power loader button does not work at all for me so I can't even manually load new strings. I own it since October and should have checked the button earlier. It's still under warranty, but talking to their customer service was a horrible experience. They were slow to respond and when they sent you a place to for the repairs, the two repair centers I called said they do not fix Ego tools.

So I said screw it and just went for a Milwaukee string trimmer, which didn't cost that much more than that Ego string trimmer model.

I used Greenworks support about 4 years ago and it was what I'd expect. Had an issue with one of two blades spinning in a mower. They asked for photo and such. Warranty was going to expire a week before I called so I qualified for a replacement BUT the model was discontinued so they sent a replacement that they stated could not be warrantied. It was seemingly brand new but...gave issues a year later. Oh well!

I haven't responded mine yet since I got it 2 months ago. I don't use it as much because the grass goes everywhere . It hits my face and it hurts if you trim some harder.
