Sony has simply priced themselves out of the market. They arguably make the best sets…but they simply aren't worth the premium for most people. And thus - it's a choice between Samsung or LG for those looking for a high-end TV

I am looking at this tv right now… and I think I have to agree.

With my old LG B7 - the stand was fancy, the aluminum exterior was fancy… it really felt like a premium product, despite not being the high end model.

I was pretty underwhelmed when I opened this one up. No real sense of occasion. Just a great picture with a slight improvement on glare.
I'm happy with it, but I feel a bit bamboozled. Probably my last Sony purchase.

I paid 2600. Pretty good price here.

They're not even better in every area. And when they are better, it's not so much as to warrant the crazy price. LG every day of the week for me. Samsung has too many problems and no Dolby Vision.

I guess Sony just rather sell less of these at their higher profit margin.

Terrible price for a two year old tv.

I have to agree with you. The higher price and lack of gaming features and the lack of 4x HDMI 2.1 is a constant deal breaker for me. I previously owned the Sony A8H 65" back in 2020. It developed dark circles under the panel and Sony swapped it for the A80J 65". I didn't like the semi gloss finish. It didn't feel or look premium. I sold it within the year, haven't bought a Sony OLED since.

me too, Sony A80J a few years back from Prime Day and shipping delay partial refund. One of the deals I enjoy every day.

Agree. Not when I can buy a tv and it's potential replacement a few years down the road for the price of one Sony. Just purchased a TCL 55" q7mk and it is surprisingly good for less than half the price of a Sony.

Just bought a tcl 55 qm7k for less than half the price of this. The picture is super. I can replace in several years and purchase a new tv for less than the cost of this. The tv sits next to the lg g4, and I can tell you the picture is very good.

For me it was when I purchased my LeEco X55 from Walmart. Damn, that was a good deal

The 77" costs more than double the price of a 65" makes no sense. This TV is 2 years old you would think it would be 50% off.

despite being 2 years old, this is the best TV money can buy. it's not even close, go to Best buy and see TVs side by side, nothing can touch the a95l. unfortunately the 77 inch is not on sale and regular price.

It's not, though.
It does have very good picture quality, color and processing. It's more accurate out of the box than Sony's newer model. On the other hand, it only has two HDMI ports, and it can't even do 144Hz. LG and Samsung are offering 4 ports at 165Hz.
It's also not as bright as newer sets from LG and Samsung.
Might be a good choice if you're a movie buff and that's 95% of your TV usage but calling it the best TV money can buy is wild.

Meant to say only two HDMI 2.1 ports.
