I had a 120 Hz Sony TV purchased around 2005. Best TV ever. I can tell the difference. I gave the TV to my daughter and it is still going strong.

Only if you're playing video games that support VRR. Otherwise it's fine for most people

Is this better than a Sony X80K from 2022? Looking for a tv with similar or better or image quality to that one and this seems like a good deal?

you could probably compare the 2 on rtings.com and see the differences. I have this TV in my bedroom and it's pretty good for what it is.
