I have long defended these Lavazza pods ever since they switched to aluminum. They were terrible when plastic, then got way better when they started using aluminum. And often one could get good deals, such as prices in the low 30 cents per capsule. But recently they've gotten bad again. I've had big problems with water leaking from my machine, the only capsules that have caused such issues. And not infrequently the capsules have come out of the extraction process all deformed, which probably was related to the leaking.

If you check out the 1 star reviews and sort by "most recent," you'll see an alarming number of them in the past month. YMMV. But consider yourself warned.

I have the same problem with the new Lavazza aluminum pods. Fortunately, piercing holes in the back of the capsules with a pushpin is all it takes to avoid it. See https://youtu.be/0Syf63U_gpc?si=kOQisxHfLPmJtkgU
