Great deal. Would jump on this if I hadn't gotten the XL Pro version already. The extra thermometer is nice but the Bluetooth feature is kinda silly since so I'm right next to the grill. I guess if you're planning to smoke or cook something for a long time but I already have a pellet smoker for that

I have the non-XL or smart version of this and it's held up well keeping it outdoors with a cover. I wish I had the XL. This worked much better than I thought it would for smoking and is great to have when the big guy isn't available or I'm too lazy. I didn't think the smoked food would come out nearly as well with how much shorter it takes vs traditional smokers.

Also, even though it says to only use ninja pellets, I've had no issues using other less costly brands.

New to grilling here. I've been looking into buying a griddle and grill. Probably a charcoal grill and gas griddle. If I buy this it seems it's pointless to get another charcoal grill?

This is a good deal. I got the Pro Connect bundle at Sam's Club earlier this year for $270. That also included the $25 cover, so buying a cover, which I highly recommend, will bring it to about the same price. It also came with the brush, but I honestly never used it. I just always used a paper towel to move the big debris.

On a side note, unless you desperately want grill marks, I would suggest getting the griddle. Trying to remove all the grease in each tunnel on the grill plate is honestly a chore. It looks like you get it all after washing, but then you still see the glare. And this was using boiling water from a kettle which honestly does better work than washing. But a griddle, it's stupidly easy and quick. 2 minutes vs 10-15 minutes if you actually want it clean.

Fantastic deal on this. We've got two (don't ask) and really enjoy them, plus the 'Connect' part with the app is a game changer. There's more to it than just keeping an eye on the temp, it makes things far easier to change or make adjustments on the fly, plus there are dozens & dozens of 'recipe cards' in the app for most foods you can ever think of doing on a grill. Just click the recipe and send it to the unit for it to begin cooking with all the settings ready to go (you can still adjust them to your liking, too).

If you're going to get one, this is the one to get.

That said, you should only buy if don't have other cooking options. If you live in an apartment complex that doesn't allow fire, you don't do much outdoor cooking, or are not that discriminating in your BBQ, the Woodfire is a good choice, otherwise stick to more traditional methods. I do a lot of BBQ, and this is not a replacement for a real grill or smoker. I bought a Woodfire out of curiosity, but ended up selling it at my garage sale. For my tastes, it doesn't cook steak, chicken, or burgers as well as my Weber gas grill or flat top, and it doesn't come close as a smoker compared to my offset, or electric smoker for that matter. As a griddle, it's still relatively small next to a Blackstone type flat top. The one advantage it has is It does many things, just not necessarily all that well, but good enough for most people.

The Woodfire is pretty cool tech, but there are a few issues I think people overlook. Maybe it was just my Woodfire, but getting pre-heated was a little wonky, sometimes it was sizzling hot, other times I felt it wasn't ready. The white smoke it generates is pretty acrid too, so the flavor while smoky is not pleasant, especially with steak or burgers (just my 2 cents). Cleanup, while generally easy since there's mainly one grill plate, is not as easy as cleaning gas grill grates. Those you just scrub with a brush and re-oil. Plus, the non-stick grill plate is great at first, like all ceramic coated pans, but it becomes less non-stick and more difficult to clean after several uses (even if you only handwash it). Also, there's a buildup under the lid and fan motor area that is pretty difficult to clean. I only used mine a dozen times before I sold it, but I could see that being an issue down the road.

i still havent figured out a good way to clean all the grease build up on the fan and lid. so many nooks and crannies to try to get in, and you can't even detatch it to make it easier

I have the non smart xl pro. paid higher than this price for mine and I think it was well worth the money. I'm literally smoking beef ribs right now with the one I have trying to convince myself not to buy a second one. If you're on the fence and love to smoke- just buy it and think later.

Been waiting for a deal on this. Now showing as regular price on Amazon (for me, at least), but still $250 on Kohl's site. Thanks OP.

Pulled the trigger on the Amazon one. It was still available for $250 for me and actually had a $12.50 promotional credit 30 days after it ships (never seen this before). This seems better to me than the $50 Kohls cash.

This has non stick grates, would prefer cast iron or stainless steel for longevity.

Great Deal. I bought this last year. I like the app that I use inside the house on my iphone Can change temp and time, etc. Hint, when you light the pellets, let the first few minutes of white smoke go without introducing any food. When the smoke goes a little blue, then put in the food. The smoke taste will be better.
