Didn't they get rid of the replaceable memory from this year onwards? 16GB may not be enough for a gaming laptop in a few years

It was also not replaceable last year, but I'd imagine even if it had 32gb, the 8gb VRAM will be out of shape sooner anyways.
Planned obsolescence sucks. Also, still no deals on 16 inch variant!!

I could live with 32gb soldered, but 16gb? Not for $1400. Half that, maybe.

LOL my 5+ year old Zenbook has a MX450 with a whopping 2GB. It still plays modern games (on lower settings) better than high end integrated. Sadly the ram is soldered and only 8GB. If I could upgrade the ram I would keep it for another 5 years. But I don't think Win 11 is going to play nicely with only 8, this one might be Win 10 forever (or linux, playing around with Bazzite)

16GB RAM soldered is the issue.

Not sure why they think people willing to pay a premium price for a laptop will want a 16gb version.

agreed. Premium prices should include premium specs - 32gb minimum.

They can't serious about still selling a 16gb ram for more than 1000 in 2025, dGPU or not. It's so not about if 16gb is technically enough. Them soldering and bottlenecking an otherwise perfectly well designed laptop with this kind of pricing strategy is just dumb af

yes also seeing at 1350 and regardless of the RAM being soldered which sucks, I am thinking about pulling trigger.

getting for college student that may want some light gaming from time to time but mostly plays League so I know this is overkill for that.

cant find anything else in this price range that matches

my 10+ year old ASUS still runs fast. But I gave it 16GB (2x8GB) and 1 TB SSD and clean OS.
