This price seems to only be at certain locations and only when the residential plan (also discounted right now), but the Standard kit is 50% off ($175) nationwide US and on any plan including Roam. The Nationwide sale ends on 9/12, but I don't see a date listed for the better sale of $89.

"$65/mo (normally $80/mo) service for your first year and $89 (normally $349) for the Standard Kit in select areas of Idaho."

I got this email on the 25th, replied with it in another post. "Starlink is offering Residential plans starting at $49/mo for your first year. Additionally, get an $89 Standard Kit (previously $349). Available everywhere in Nebraska."
I got it at about $160 with tax and shipping this spring. Also got 5 months free (2 from Farm Bureau, rest I don't know, didn't want to question them about it). Full residential is $90, Lite is $80.
An offer for free equipment I saw after I got mine required service at $120. So I don't know what the service price would be after this latest offer, after the first year.

This is such BS. I had to pay $600 for mine. Now that we have fiber it is useless. I can't even sell it for $50...

Where I live where it is just not needed at all, its $175 and $99 a month. I guess the dont need to compete here so the costs are high.

Prior to mine, I paid $500 for a cellular router, and $400 for the antenna, but keeping it for backup. At the time, a few months after they first offered cell service in the area a couple years ago, T-Mobile didn't officially offer their home Internet, and if they did, their routers were quite limited (disassemble just to hook up a required antenna for the 10+ miles, limited firmware). Prior to that a few years, different antenna/routers, modems, and a Wilson cell booster. And way back, something like $300 for the Wildblue satellite (they let you buy at the time instead of a forever monthly fee).

Some put up tall towers. Some pay thousands to tens of thousands to hook up fiber. Rural Internet often requires "investments", sometimes they last longer than others, sometimes you get some of it back when things change. Can't do much about it.
