Man i just bought this like a week ago for 30 more dollars lol. Amazing printer though, I have printed quite a few things in that time and really love it. I started off with resin printer and while it was interesting, filament printing is a lot more practical for me. I also ended up buying the enclosure kit and printed the other parts needed. I havent printed in ABS or anything like that but its nice to have the option with the enclosure and the main reason i wanted to do the enclosure upgrade was to reduce noise and it has been great for that. I just ordered a camera for it too lol, probably could have saved a few dollars just getting the 5m pro but im super happy with it. If you are on the fence, for this price i def think its a good deal

Stupid question, can I use Cura with this? I have no interest in WIFI, remote printing, etc (just export gcode to SD card, put SD card in printer...super unfancy). Some stuff I am reading online makes it sound like using Cura requires work arounds. I also don't want to learn a new slicer if possible.

I think you would have to create the profiles. I think the only slicers with profiles are FF's slicer and Orca.

I know the AliE link says normal price is $674 as well as this post but I just want to call out that manufacturer MSRP itself is $399 and it's discounted to $299 pretty much permanently as far as I have seen. So normal price for this is essentially $299.

This is still a good deal. I just don't want people to think this is some blazing deal where it's a "buy now, think later". Especially considering it's AliE and a 3D printer.

This is the cheapest I've seen yet!
Super cheap and if I didn't just buy a 5m pro then I'd be tempted. It is Aliexpress though and that's probably the big gamble here. If you have any issues, you might be SOL. Chinese customer support is AWFUL compared to western standards.

Got this last month with the last AliExpress deal. It came quickly and was very easy to setup. I've had great results with every print so far. I've printed things like toothpaste tube squeezers, drawer dividers/orgranizers, Dewalt tool hangers, and even a case for my soldering iron. I'd highly recommend this. You can even install custom firmware for even more options. The only downside that I've seen is that the PSU fan is very loud and is always on. To turn the unit off, you have to turn off a switch at the back or put it onto a controllable relay. I have mine in the garage, so noise is not an issue, but still something to think about.

one of the 5m printers couldn't even print a benchy it would just fail and I would try pla filament I will try petg I switched the nozzle from 4 mm to 6 mm it just would not work successfully. I tried aquafina hairspray, glue sticks, some proprietary glue stuff. same. put the same file on my bambu or my anycubic kobra 3 and they would just work I end up giving one of my printers to my sister.
Does this printer have a heated bed? Just wondering if maybe the bed wasn't warming up enough (assuming you were using a software setting=brim for better adhesion?). Thanks.

Was wondering the same found this :

It was written for the pro but he says it should work with the adventurer 5m. If it doesn't work assuming you could just add a custom profile to cura.

Thanks a bunch, I'll try that. Honestly I was looking into Flashprint (I think the default slicer for this printer) and it looks pretty similar to Cura so may not have much, if any learning curve. I'm so used to Cura though so if I could stick with the devil I know, it might be for the best Wink

I own two of these Sound Forge Adventure 5M printers. I picked them up for around $250 each, so at this price it's definitely a solid deal—when they're working right.

That said, I've had my share of issues. A lot of my early failed prints were user error (mostly prints not sticking to the plate), but even after troubleshooting, these machines often sit idle because I get so many failures compared to my Bambu printers. Another downside are the nozzle cost they run about $35–$40 each, which adds up fast.

There's also an optional enclosure kit to make it more like a P1S, but you have to print all the plastic parts yourself (the only included piece is the plexiglass panel and screws), and that kit runs another $40–$50.

For materials, I print exclusively with PETG and silk PLA. The reality is my Adventure 5Ms don't get much use anymore since my Bambu printers handle most of my work these days. Still, if you can manage the quirks and nozzle costs, the price here is good for what you're getting. imagine if you could get 10 or 12 of these for under $2,000 you'd have a farm.
wanna sell the one's you're not using

Seems to work for some I had same issue and reported then got down voted to hell. So I ended up just buying a sovol sv06 for $179 on sale. AI say it's way better than this.
