I know the AliE link says normal price is $674 as well as this post but I just want to call out that manufacturer MSRP itself is $399 and it's discounted to $299 pretty much permanently as far as I have seen. So normal price for this is essentially $299.

This is still a good deal. I just don't want people to think this is some blazing deal where it's a "buy now, think later". Especially considering it's AliE and a 3D printer.

Bought one of these while it was in the 170s. Great little machine that needed minimal adjustments. The only issue I've had was prints not sticking to the bed, but that was my fault.
it does not include a camera, but you can plug a USB WebCam into it and it will work.

is it worth upgrading from a Monoprice Joule 3D Printer? or is there not any noticeable benefits?

I own two of these Sound Forge Adventure 5M printers. I picked them up for around $250 each, so at this price it's definitely a solid deal—when they're working right.

That said, I've had my share of issues. A lot of my early failed prints were user error (mostly prints not sticking to the plate), but even after troubleshooting, these machines often sit idle because I get so many failures compared to my Bambu printers. Another downside are the nozzle cost they run about $35–$40 each, which adds up fast.

There's also an optional enclosure kit to make it more like a P1S, but you have to print all the plastic parts yourself (the only included piece is the plexiglass panel and screws), and that kit runs another $40–$50.

For materials, I print exclusively with PETG and silk PLA. The reality is my Adventure 5Ms don't get much use anymore since my Bambu printers handle most of my work these days. Still, if you can manage the quirks and nozzle costs, the price here is good for what you're getting. imagine if you could get 10 or 12 of these for under $2,000 you'd have a farm.

second comment about bed adhesion. was it just a leveling issue or things actually not sticking?

one of the 5m printers couldn't even print a benchy it would just fail and I would try pla filament I will try petg I switched the nozzle from 4 mm to 6 mm it just would not work successfully. I tried aquafina hairspray, glue sticks, some proprietary glue stuff. same. put the same file on my bambu or my anycubic kobra 3 and they would just work I end up giving one of my printers to my sister.

damn. sorry. that sucks. nothing is worse then shitty bed adhesion. maybe it was just warped enough and it had weak compensation

Now maybe every now and then I would use it for a project and it would work amazing I did some prints with roses single color roses and I made dozens of plates flawlessly. So when it works it's amazing but when it doesn't it's frustrating. people say a lot of mess about bambu but it's really like set it and forget it even though everybody knows you had to babysit these machines. I believe I was also able to hook up a webcam to it pretty easy.

It wasn't a leveling issue for me. I didn't tinker with it as I had a spare plate for my Bambu. Popped that plate on and haven't had it issue since.

yeah. so probably just a really poor adhesion surface. sucks, I'd love to get like 3 of these for the price. but might not need the headache. I still have a mk4 I need to build 😆

Picked this up on the last Ali deal.. it is an amazing printer for the money. If you like to tinker and are more hands on get this one. If not get the pro or 4 color version.

I've had one since June last year. Very solid printer. Two things to look at when thinking about bed adhesion:
1. The default PLA bed temp is 50C vs 55-60 on some other printers. That might explain some of the again issues.
2. While I love printing without rafts, brims, sometimes a part design is just inherently not good at sticking. Those things really can help.
3. Masking tape/painters tape is a great build surface for challenging prints. It doesn't leave a nice surface finish but it holds well.
4. Sometimes the problem really is the shape of your part and/or it's orientation with respect to the infill. I had lift issues when printing a long thin, tall part. The part would fail at the same layer each time. When I watched carefully I realized the issue was my infill. Orca put the infill down at 45* to the bed. That meant some of the time the infill was along the length of my part. As it cooled it would put tension on the top layer of the print. It was trying to bend it like too tight guitar strings. Once I understood the issue it was easy to address.

Anyway, my 5M has been rock solid and a great printer. An easy recommend for me.

I'm torn on this. I'm looking to get a P1S at some point but don't have a Core printer. I have an S1 and got rid of my heavily modded E3 Pro. I want something that prints out of the box like my S1 but want a Core printer. Do I wait and get the P1S? Or is this too good of a deal to pass up?

Holy hell, they really want to get rid of these things. They keep dropping the price, it's getting harder and harder not to buy one. Just have to keep telling myself that the old Ender 3 still prints perfectly fine.....
