I use the indoor sensors in my fridge and freezer. If this works like their indoor temperature and humidly sensors, depending on how much of a change in temperature or humidity the unit detects, it can take up to one hour(!) for the sensor to update. I'm guessing that's to save battery power but I'd much rather replace the cheap AAA batteries more often than to have to wait an hour for an accurate reading. There should be a way through the app that you can manually update the readings but there is not.

non-bot here, Yolink makes the products people want. they make temperature sensors with probes that I used to monitor my HVAC system in my house. a floating thermometer for my pool that is long range. a mailbox sensor so I can tell when my mailbox is opened because my driveway is about a quarter mile long. and all of these things work flawlessly. there may be a lot of bots out there, but I'm here to tell you, if you need Smart Home sensors that are easy to set up and just work and by the way integrate with home assistant, these are the devices you are looking for!

agree. They should let the user make the choice of lower battery life but faster reporting. I suspect they will in the future, because they do make the products people want like I just said in my previous post, but for now they are a little slow but still work for my purposes on my HVAC and my water heater monitoring.

I had hacked together an ESP32/DS18B20 thermometer using Home Assistant for my freezers, but I trust something like this a bit more. Considering the potential loss if I lose power and don't catch it quickly, this seems like it's well worth the price.

Plus this fully integrates with home assistance so you can use both, use the your link app when you want and use home assistant for automation and alerts as well!
