got sick of waiting, bought pny, for $17 months ago - no regrets.
it's wicked fast and the pny reader dissipates heat a lot better,
which is why i hang it off my router as a local cloud map share.
and yes, i know an m.2 drive or flash drive would work better there
but i discovered the bottleneck as the single thread of my router cpu
managing the usb bus, so 100's more mbps would not have mattered.
and yes, i used to host a 4tb nas, it broke after years, i shucked the drive out
and realized we didn't really need all that speed or space, we just needed
a place to temporarily share files that was not any one client dependent.
Somebody hates it when they don't get amazon referral credits.
