don't forget swa is bottom tier airline in terms of perks now. besides taking away luggage and other freebies, the cheapest fares have 6 months funding expiration from purchase even if supposedly there are no change fees. so buy a ticket today for the sale period in March and it's basically non changable as when it gets close and you want to change to a later flight the funds are already expired

yes while that may be true for the Basic (Most Restrictive) checkout option, they do offer other options in the same checkout screen (page) where by paying a little more, you can or for either...- No cancel fee (12-month Transferable Flight Creditâ„¢ from original ticketing date)

- there's also a full refund option
