$3,999 for a camera body.... I see how Canon appreciates their customers! 🤣 I'd be appreciative too if folks bought expensive stuff like that from me!
Yeah, $3300 for a 10 year old camera body (which I have and love) is criminal. Great condition 5d mark 4's can be found for ~$1000 all over Facebook
But to spend $3300 on it? 🤣😂🙃 In late 2025? Yeah, that's just not gonna happen. I'm sure Canon really "appreciates" everyone who does buy it at that price!
Don't get me wrong -- the 5Dmk4 and a few other DSLRs are still very decent photo cameras, even in this day of mirrorless. But to spend $3300 on it? 🤣😂🙃 In late 2025? Yeah, that's just not gonna happen. I'm sure Canon really "appreciates" everyone who does buy it at that price!
But you also get a slow lens with it!

I love my 5dm4 but it's not worth 4k with an ok lens . really canon this is bs
the only thing the newer cameras have is in body stability with the sensor that's it tho

The AF is snappy AF, with Face & Eye detect being phenomenal. I can program in "follow THIS person's face" and it'll prioritize it in a crowd of people exceptionally well.
AF across the ENTIRE frame, ANYWHERE in the frame.
Burst shooting of 40fps+. Pre-burst shooting letting you capture about a half second before pressing the shutter.
Video...depending on the model, but it's exceptional quality in easy to use formats.
Fractional shutter speeds to combat lighting flicker.
Smaller & lighter bodies + lenses.
I'm sure there's a plethora of other features I'm plum forgetting....but mirrorless being good for "just IBIS" is far from correct. I'm not putting down the 5dmk4 at all -- it's an excellent camera. But unless I need that robust build quality, a mid-tier Canon R8 is going to give it some serious competition at a fraction of the price. EF lenses perform at their peak on the RF mount -- and the RF mount lenses are (depending on model) superb.
That said, these 'discounts' are NOT ground breaking, hardly 'slick', and not at all promotion worthy.
