Amazon reviews seem pretty solid. No complaints of failure there. My biggest concern would be bricking a battery with this, but I think it's worth a try. I'll be careful not to let the battery run all the way to empty.

No coupon for either color. Coupon pulled, unless you have a code.

UPDATED: Savings did apply at checkout. Nothing to clip though for me.
Seems either for this deal, or maybe for all deals that Amazon changed the way they show coupons. This one has a box that said "Saving $8" in red.

There was nothing to click. Reading it as it is written would mean the price reflected the savings, unless I did need to click on it. They were showing it as coupon applied on the product page for clickables before now, AFAIK.

Price history for the last 3 months shows this has traditionally been around $31. It's still an ok price if someone needs an inverter, but just note that this seems like a normal price.

last I remember, Milwaukee M18 batteries are supposed to have an internal BMS that prevents it from going below a certain voltage. no intervention is supposed to be necessary.

This is correct. Milwaukee builds the protection into the batteries themselves so no concerns about using them like this. Dewalt on the other hand, puts the BMS in the tools, so you have to be careful with their batteries.

I came across two pack generic M18 8.0 ah batteries on Amazon for $40 lol - they have been working flawlessly.

If anyone doesn't mind chiming in, would those potentially be okay to use with this inverter?

Most of the things I would power with this cost much more than a Milwaukee battery. So if the power-source battery is the only sacrificial risk using this then it might be worth it. If you're worried about damaging your electronics then play it safe; you're only saving $8 from the original price on this.

I was wondering why they didn't have Makita, so found this which seems to have the same prices for red and yellow as OP, but includes Ryobi and Makita.
