The panel on this model looks to be the better of the two IPS panels that HP offers for the Omen line, and the best available for this model. Keep in mind that HP did the same thing every other laptop manufacturer does and gives the laptops with the AMD CPUs worse options (no OLED, Mediatek wifi chip)

I'm not excusing this, but in my experience AMD chipsets refuse to post with a killer/intel wifi7 card installed. Mediatek is really the only choice.
I'm also one of the people that prefer a good ips display over oled as I do more work than gaming these days and static content isn't good for oled.

I have personally never experienced this issue and I always swap out a Mediatek card for an Intel one, this is an issue that does sometimes happen though. The reason for the pairing is that Intel refuses to allow AMD laptops to use their wifi cards, as is their right to do so. This doesn't excuse the other decisions laptop manufacturers make but this, at least, not a choice they can make in their models.

I swapped out my x670e mediatek wifi with a be200 but found out it can't be recognized as amd actively blocks intel wifi chips. Some had success using older intel ax210 but the mediatek chips are horrible. I've had several either wifi or BT stops working

Next time you want to try the swap: download the intel drivers but don't install them, boot into Safe Mode without networking and remove the drivers for the mediatek card. Power down, remove the card, and install the Intel one. You might need to boot into Safe Mode to install the new drivers but this usually works to get around any issues.

mediatek limitation is set by intel they don't allow AMD machines to be shipped with an intel card anymore
