This, or should I build my own server?
Planning on running, VM, plex, dockers, and pi-hole ATM.
Thoughts on better deals down the line?

The cpu is kind of weak so you can probably run at most 1 VM. That said, you can run dockers plex just fine. But the good thing is that the cpu is energy efficient and there is not much maintenance in terms of the OS and server.

Thank you for the info. It seems that it might be better to just build a $500ish home server with an i3.

Downside to building your own is 1) probably won't be this small of a form factor with off the shelf parts, and 2) probably won't be energy efficient for 24/7/364 operation. Up to you as to how much those things matter.

Thanks for the info. What's a good alternative if I expect to have 1-2 Plex streams at a time and also torrents being seeded from the NAS ? I'm fairly new to this
