don't have this but just wanna say I have the bar 9.1 before this and although the sound is phenomenal, there are serious usability issues with device handshakes. ours will randomly go into standby during sessions of PS5, Hulu, etc. replaced all our cords to HDMI 2.1 and fiber optic and it still has issues. research and you'll find this is a common issue that plagues, as it seems, their entire Bar lineup.

Lol. You're recommending a stereo setup with no dialogue channel. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
There we go! Knew it was coming!

Yes. I totally would recommend a 2.1 setup using Infiniti/JBL/Klipsch reference speakers over a $300 sound bar with an array of 2" speakers.

Sound bars have a place - convenience, size, and aesthetics when wall mounted. But they have drawbacks versus other options.

I never said a center channel was useless. I picked a "what would I build for $300?" and stuck to that price point. Comparing a $500+ build to a $300 sound bar isn't really a fair fight.

Most content is stereo and doesn't even take advantage of that.

Most people don't have an ear stemming out of their forehead, leading to the need of a center channel being less than higher quality stereo. You can go on Alibaba and buy 100 budget speakers and it won't sound as good as two quality floor standing speakers.

You will have a better/more accurate frequency reproduction.

You have an upgrade path if you want to transition into a true 5.1/7.2/etc. setup.
