sale tax is based on where you buy the product, not the same with online which is based on the shipping address.

how long would it take for the phone to unlock?

Phone has to be paid off for it to be unlocked
Any discount will be paid as credit over 24 months. So basically, you should not pay off or cancel their service if you don't want to loose the credit.
I guess It has been like this since Iphone 13, in the old days they used to give pre paid Visa gift card, I use that one to payoff the phone early and unlock it. Now you have to wait for full two years to get the maximum credit.

Was stuck on contract with xfinity for the last two years because of my 15PM 1Tb. The initial offer included a BOGO line for the first year and phone credits. The contract just ended. 2-lines are costing $70. I'm cancelling. Keeping the unlocked 15PM and 15 for a few more years. Going with a prepaid NVMO plan with USMobile. Should work for me. We're light users 12gb/mo max. Contracts don't make sense anymore.

My next phone will be Android for sideloading.
oh damn i better pick one up now and disable updates

Did you try to disabled Auto-Connect to that specific wifi in settings?

Yes, it's baked into the network settings, you can't disable it.

Might be possible to make an automation that disables wi-fi when you leave your home.

Preordered one iPhone 17 pro and one iPhone 17 pro max yesterday including a new five year internet plan for $55, phones are free after trade in. First year service is $95 as this includes $40 for two lines. After the first year lines increases to $80 with a grand total of $135 for home internet and two lines.
If you're a new customer to Xfinity, did you receive a free first year unlimited mobile offer when you signed up for internet? I'm seeing that offer in my area. Curious if that applies with iPhone trade-in offer or if that didn't apply in your case.

Yeah I actually qualified for three promotions. Free first year of unlimited mobile for one line, free phone with monthly bill credits over 24 months and finally up to $500 back to pay off my current devices each.

Will they have it in store from 19th September? Have anyone tried getting it on first day in xfinity store? I can avoid the sales tax if i directly get it in store. Still debating whether it is worth the try or just book it online.

I did everything in store. It's worth the time and effort to go in. I've heard too many horror stories of others doing it online and not getting the correct promotion applied and etc.

It says must keep the line eligible until trade in is completed -- does that mean I can downgrade the Premium Unlimited plan to By the Gigs after the monthly trade-in credits is initiated?

From my experience, Xfinity Mobile is good from the local stores but misery from online support. It seems no one can explain their billing statement from their support team online. The discount/credit came separately from their plan.

Just to follow up I was able to get the 1,100 credit to work for my iPhone pro max 14. I had to update my plan from unlimited plus to unlimited premium (same plan just newer name) and then the credit worked. Be sure to check the apply monthly option to get the full credit.
How to do that?
