The Trance X is a proven, well balanced platform that is not a huge drag to pedal around. It is not DW Link, but the Maestro "thingy" Giant does is well tuned for single pivot.
It comes with decent suspension parts and ~30lbs - claimed for the XL - it is not heavy either. Overall it is a good bike and for that price it worths investing in it - IMHO.
Yes, the Eagle SX is ... trash.
The Tektro 745 brakes are workable.
If you are not afraid to wrench on it, getting this is not a bad idea. Now that the new gen Mx200 shimano comes out, the M7100 (SLX) and M8100 (XT) will start being discounted even further (already very good value on AliX and eBay), I would be tempted to buy this and just gradually upgrade to a full SLX (perhaps with the XT Shifter and chain) build for drivetrain and brakes alike, and have a VERY respectable "do it all" trail bike.
A little trap is that the SX means it comes with a HG freehub driver, in which case maybe you need to be creative to keep it 12s at low budge.
One option is to keep the SX cassette which can work with Shimano RD/Shifter just fine...it will actually shift leagues better with the Shimano RD/Shifter than with Eagle SX/NX.
The other option is to use a Sunridge/Sunrace or whatever Taiwanese HG 12s cassette, but...why? Keep the SX.
The 3rd option would be to ditch 12s, and just go for the M5100 11s system that has HG+ (better shifting under load than with Sram, no need to pretend that this was invented with Sram's T-Type, it did not) and has the same range (11-51T), only cheaper, holds indexing better than Sram SX/NX (bar is too low) and shifts as good as 12s Shimano anyways.
The all-out option is to find a cheap Microspline wheelset that many ditch to go to Sram, and sell the HG wheelset + drivetrain + tektro as "new/unused/factory pulled" parts and get yourself the drivetrain/brakes/wheels that this thing deserves. Will end up a couple of pounds under, will shift better under load than any Eagle, the chain will last longer than anything GX and under, the Shimano brakes will not need bleeding 3 times a year like the Sram DOT ones, etc.

That said, what Giant calls "pivot points" and what I think of pivot points is different.
What Maestro grown to be is a dual linkage, single virtual floating pivot point thing. The "pivot" I refer to, single or multiple or single moving/floating etc, is in reference to the arc the rear triangle tracks on through its suspension travel. How many articulation points are activated by the linkages, be it 4 or 6 or w/e like with some 6-bar designs is a different thing.
