I have one of these and it didn't really work. It is better to spend the money towards a portable A/C unit instead.

All depends on your area. If you're in the southwest or somewhere that routinely gets humidity below 20% they can be an inexpensive way to cool while adding a bit of humidity. I have a whole house one that needs about 100 W to run, so even during power outages I can run it with a portable battery backup for hours.

I live in Los Angeles, but my point is, in the last 5 years I have seen similar coolers going for the same price, I don't think this is a deal, it's a regular priced Cooler with really high overprice retail and you only get 90 Days warranty instead of the regular 1 year if you buy them outside from Woot, so more than a deal, looks like a really bad purchase.

Single story, 1400sq ft. Uses a trickle of water from my garden hose to stay topped up. Installed it in a window on one side of the house. Just leave windows cracked in every room (or turn on an attic fan if you have one). https://www.homedepot.com/p/Bonai.../303666269 The 500W number is when it's running at full speed.

Guys, this is not an AC. Threat it as a humidifier. This is what I use similar device for during the winter season. Works well, but requires water treatment [walmart.com] .
Should work well in low humidity areas like AZ, NV, CA all year round.
