i ordered a couple of these last time they were on sale as i needed to replace my old crank emergency radio. literally a couple days after they were delivered a tornado touched down in my town and knocked power out for quite a long time. i kept one of them on a charger before power went out and started to use it immediately and i was pretty impressed honestly. the front facing light was nice for when i had to navigate my house in the dark, the other light was great for lighting up my smaller bathroom while showering and the like. the radio part worked well, and kept playing all night on AM. i manually cranked it for some extra power a few time throughout the outage. the charger part was able to run a really small fan that made sleeping in the 100+ weather a tad more managable. cant speak on the solar aspect, i havent used it for that yet.
for like 15 bucks or so i would reommend it to just to have it around in case of emergency. buy one for your parents or kids as a little gift if they dont have one already. my mother who does not have a plethora of chargers/battery packs etc was able to keep her phone charge with it.
