When in the history of time has an 8 pack of this been priced at OP's stated regular price of $61?

I never said anything about it being $61???

I have not control over what Amazon puts on their product pages. I never pay those crazy MSRP's any mind.

That's very curious as on the "Post a Deal" there is a box right below "sale price" (which you filled out as "$14") labeled "List Price." From my experience if you leave that blank, SD does NOT put a random value in there, i.e., the "$61" showing on your post as the List Price (note, no "list/original price," let alone $61, is mentioned on the product page, and according to CCC this has never been more than $27).
You should be able to edit your post and enter the price it dropped from in August in the list price box (it's been $17.20 before 15% coupon since August). That would be $20.74. Doing so would help ensure that people aren't mislead by the OP, it's currently showing this item as "77% off," which it clearly isn't.

I can assure you, that was not my doing. I use the classic version on desktop and have no ability to enter those figures even if I wanted to. My guess is some AI program inputs that data. I'd never be so off the wall as to tell people this is 77% off the price. LOL. like $10 for one can of soup.

This is actually really good stuff. It's best with a bit of cheese sprinkled on top after heating.

Typically the best soup deals don't start til October in grocery stores. But you'd be surprised how many people live in areas of the country where this is the best price they'll see, also some like the convenience of just having it delivered for an extra $2.xx on 8 cans.

I wish these had less salt. They're good lunches, but 1490 mg for a 400 calorie can is difficult to justify.

A lot of the ingredients individually bring their own salt (e.g. seasoned beef/pork crumble, tomato puree, and the pasta) yet they feel the need to add additional salt on top of that which is completely unnecessary and just makes the whole thing taste salty.

If you look at similar foods sold abroad, they may have less than half the salt content and make up for it with dried herbs and spices.

The cans we buy in our local stores contain 18.6 oz.

I got the Chili Mac deal but also added the creamy chicken and dumplings as well for $15.88 - the coupon clipped $2.39 = $13.49... For $1.69 each for creamy chicken and dumplings, it is definitely worth it for me. Plus I did the subscribe for an additional 5% off.

Canned soups will be high in sodium. It doesn't matter if it is Campbells or Progresso or some generic supermarket brand. All soups whether it is canned or homemade are high in sodium. Look at all broths and purees. They aren't pouring extra "salt" in there. Go look at the high sodium levels from Panera soups. Go look at the Campbells cookbook nutrition level of the homemade soups.... If you get the chicken and noodle soup, you could always pour out some of the broth and replace it with water to lower the sodium level.
Another idea is to stop eating the entire can that is supposed to be for 2 servings. Too many people are eating portions that are way too much.
*I can make homemade chicken noodle soup but then I got a huge pot of chicken noodle soup in a pot that needs to be eaten pretty quickly as it spoils quickly. Too much soup. I can also make great homemade mashed potatoes too but it is way too much potatoes that spoils quickly so the convenience of canned soup or the mashed potato packets makes more sense. I don't want to be eating huge portions of soup or mashed potatoes for a few days to finish up the homemade recipes.
