works really well for sensitivity, but if you stop using 5% pottasium nitrate toothpaste it will return in a few days

Can someone give me the lowdown between stannous and sodium flouride? Stannous, on paper, seems superior in every way (it kills germs) but sensodyne uses sodium which is what most "cheap" formulations use. Dr Ellie Philips (lmk if she's a quack) also recommends sodium > stannous but doesn't specify why
