Blink cameras use Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries.
Battery life is ultimately determined by how often the camera is triggered and how good the WiFi signal is. I have some cameras that get very little action and the batteries are over 2 years.
Cameras where I watch wildlife with plenty of hits I might only get 4-6 months.

Probably need some nuclear powered batteries. In my cameras they last 3 months max. I have added solar panels so there is no problem for me. But 4 years is a joke. Maybe in a dark room where nothing ever moves.

lol $300. I've got the older ones, my first pair of lithium lasted over 4 years while living in apartments, just enable when I leave and disable when I get home it really only recorded inspections from property managers and me forgetting to turn it off. Meanwhile doorbell is about 6 months. The newer doorbell has 3 batteries probably because they get triggered often. I also use lithium rechargeables and haven't noticed any issues.

That being said I'd rather invest in eufy if I didn't already have blinks. I'm grandfathered into the cloud and am anti subscriptions. They have local recording and backup to a home base. Or I'd look into a CCTV system if you can do it.

Any reason these would not also be good for indoors, besides the batteries?

A couple of my cameras also have gotten over four years before needing new batteries and were also triggered fairly often.

Horrible, horrible cameras if you plan on using live view or talking to someone through them. Good for just recording events. It takes 15-60 seconds to start a live view, and good luck using it as a doorbell camera to talk to someone in real time. I've had all four generations of blink outdoor and they manage to get worse each time. Yes, my internet is gigabit speeds and the cameras are all well within range of the hub and my router

40$+ for 2 cameras with sync module is a good deal - I already have sync module with me, the older one.
