I'm reading a lot of posts on Costco's included extended warranty coming through in later years and I like the idea of knowing I always have that as potential help needed. It's not just help from the warranty company themselves but Costco apparently also intervenes on their end if needed.
For me in MD with 6% tax it's a stark difference going from Costco vs LG Parnter. At Costco, I'd be paying $1900 w/ 5 year Allstate warranty included + tax @ $100 = ~$1,900. Then I'd get around ~$70 cash back from my exec membership + Costco visa.
If I go the LG Partner route, I'm at Subtotal $1,440 w/ the soundbar bundle + $86 tax minus potential 2% CB (~$30). To make it more apples to apples I could add on the 3 year Asurion at $250 and that puts me at Subtotal $1690, then $86 tax, and again 2% CB.
I'm sure the soundbar has value, but I don't know if it has enough value to justify the extended warranty trade off. I normally wouldn't factor in an extended warranty this much on a purchase, but when it comes to TVs it does seem like something with a higher percent chance of needing it.
My main TV right now is the 65" Samsung KS8000 and a few years into that TV the panel developed a green line through it which luckily Samsung replaced for free otherwise that would have been the end of the TV there

I'd also add that last I checked, their gift card cash back options aren't very good. I cancelled my LG order the first time I placed it.
