None of those sell 64gb ram option, therefore they will say "oh no it is not the same model". Even though what they sell should be even cheaper
Totally frustrated by that. Lenovo won't pm either.

extra info: if you open micro center credit card it goes down to $2185
Does the Microcenter credit card offer free extended warranties? If not I would go for Chase/Amex for a year or Citi for 2 years. Or I guess with the discount you would maybe by Lenovo's extended warranty. I have had 2 windows laptops crap out on me twice right after the warranty period has ended. Never again!

One things i am curious. Is there a difference in buying from bestbuy vs mc? I read everyone tries to price match things at bestbuy? Is it for the extra warranty to purchase?

I'm guessing cause Best Buy has way more stores everywhere than MC.
Cashback for one, need to have a the MC CC to get any from them.

I believe it is time to upgrade from my 1660ti. Is the 5080 worth it for a casual gamer over the 5070 ti? I've heard it is about30 - 40% performance increase.
Yes its worth it, i got the legion 5070ti and went back for an exchange. Its worth the extra $300 for the 64gb of ram and rtx 5080. The extra 4gb of video ram will ensure its more future proof.

These deals are so exhausting as I've not kept up with what's good anymore. Is this the one to get to not have to worry about upgrading in the next five years for a casual gamer? Looking to play games like Dune Spice Wars and Dune Awakening for now.
Thanks in advance!

it really depends on what price you bought the laptops at. I bought my 7i pro 5070ti for 1760+taxes. The 600 dollar difference will not justify the small improvement in performance.
Btw the difference between the 5070ti and 5080 is about 10-15%, well 20% if you count 4k benchmarks (but i dont consider that since these come with a 2k display). Even with the 300 price difference its a hard bill to swallow for a measly 10-15% gain.

I bought and tested both machines. For the 4 or 5 games i tested i got 10fps difference btw the two gpu after lenovo custom overclock or performance setting. I decided to stick with the 5070ti

i run dune awakening no issues on the lenovo 7i pro with the 5070ti. Btw that game has a pretty crappy endgame. I regret paying deluxe price for that game...

Maybe you will be happier saving some money with the pro 5i version of the laptop posted here. You can read my comment on the differences on 5080 vs 5070ti above. I wouldnt spend the extra money for 10-15% gain only.

The price with coupon codes and medical profession/student/etc.. discount comes to $1,629.62 before taxes so thats really good. 50 bucks more for a 240hz screen. Ram can be upgrade from 16gb.

$700 difference is hard to pass up for a little less ram/disk, a little less build quality, a little less cooling, and worse speakers.

Thanks OP.

This is an excellent deal and I'll report back tomorrow when I pick it up. I'm finally biting on this one and using it as my desktop replacement. This is going to be such an exciting upgrade as I've not used a $2000+ computer in over 15 years and my current gaming system is a $750 MSI gf65thin with a 1660 TI that's 413th in benches vs well this #3. Lol... cheapskate here but I'm glad I waited for an OLED. On that this is also going to potentially stream AAA to my refurb oled steam deck.

Btw for those of you who read about the screen issue, that's potentially an nvidia driver problem not a hardware one.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLe...dy_driver/
Some poor dude took his lenovo in to repair because of the screen static and then came back with a big bar across the screen which was unfortunately hardware.

So even though Lenovo did a good job with our corporate laptops I still would only take my laptop in if absolutely necessary. Seeing my sister's (terrible) Macbook pro support taught me that less is much much more.
