the number of tuners equates to how many devices can be watching different channels at the same time. 2 tuners means it can tune into and stream 2 different channels at once.

I had one of these and was never happy. Recordings were unplayable pretty frequently even after buying a top of the line external drive specifically for video recording. The lack of an hdmi out is an incredibly weird design choice. Mine eventually completely broke after 11 months and I gave up on trying to fix it since Jeopardy is now on streaming

I was excited to try this last year when there was a deal. I was hoping that I would get ABC by using this near a window. Alas, my indoor leaf antenna was still not good enough. I thought then at least that I would be able to use this to view TV on my iPad or GoogleCC TVs, but using the WiFi configuration, the darned thing would keep losing connection to my WiFi.
Sure, it could be my router, but I didn't have any issues with any other WiFi devices in my home. The worst part is the reset process to get it paired and back online was too cumbersome. It was too much trouble and I didn't feel that it was worth the cost to keep it as a wired device just to stream a few local channels. Luckily, I purchased on Amazon and returns is easy.

Code works on 4 tuner to bring price to $109. BestBuy has the same price.

This seems like a relatively simple solution to watch OTA content on my tunerless Vizio tv? I'm not really worried about the DVR capability, really just live OTA. I tried a ViewTV tuner/DVR but the interface is way too convoluted and the remote has about a thousand freakin buttons.

I just checked the Roku apps and there is one available for Tablo. Is this the kinder, gentler solution I've been hoping for?

Would this work with plex or Emby?
I can watch plex but you can not record anything but over the air programming.

The 4 tuner without antenna is $90 in this deal and $109 at Best Buy.

In for one. I bought a HD Homerun recently thinking it had free dvr. Nextpvr is unreliable too. Instead of paying for the yearly HD homerun sub I can just buy this for $10 more and have free dvr forever.

Bought one to install in a house that had an antenna in the attic and tv on the first floor. I could physically connect to the antenna on the second floor, but could never connect to the network. I could connect directly to the router by the tv but couldn't run cable down to the tv from the antenna. Read that others had similar problems with the device dropping network connection and having to restart the connection process. Eventually I gave up and returned it.

I dunno if it'll take 10 years, but I agree that it'll be very surprising if the older ATSC is phased out in a year. A ton of markets still have zero ATSC 3.0 broadcasts, so the idea that things will be ready to transition in a year seems really, really optimistic.

I have OTA issues since installing radiant barrier in my attic.

Connected a Tablo to a large outside antennae and get > 100 OTA channels that I stream to any TV (Roku or Firestick) in the house.

> 50 hours free DVR with 128gB internal storage--more if I add an extra USB hard drive.

Recommend.

Previous hdhomerun user going back to Windows Media Center even and now use this to get locals and even has some nice free streams if you're into all in one app stuff. I'm in the beta which is now testing allowing you to still watch live and recordings without internet connection like in an outage event. It's a good product in my view for the cost and ease of use but not perfect. I'd buy it again at full price

Funny I just barely bought one of these today locally. it would not pick up a single local station. it does include a bunch of internet stations, but alot of those will not record. so I'll be returning this

That's great because where I live atsc 3.0 has no plans of coming. It's not a thing.

I'm still really hesitant to get this, because if you go on Amazon, it's like 1 in 2 reviews are terrible. As of September 12th it has issues it's had since the beginning they have YET to fix among many other issues. And it seems like these rarely make it past 2 years of age. I kinda wonder if it's over heating in there and if there's anything that could be done to help that? Or it's so poorly designed or poorly programmed that the team just can't get their act together?
