Great introduction to the Reolink security ecosystem. I have a 10 channel setup powering a warehouse for one of my uncles, it's great!

Price for this product often fluctuates btwn 209 and 300 bucks.

I feel like you either go wireless/cloud based, or local/poe based.
The wireless/cloud based (ring, argo, etc) have cloud based AI, alerting, good apps -- but struggle with continuous recording with few options that allow that. For most folks having an alert-based recording is sufficient and the alert pushed to their phone is great. Unifi project has a polished phone app/notifications but the cameras are more expensive for the quality.
Local/poe based systems focus on 24/7 recording. Businesses and such where alerting is harder to get right, and you dont want to miss nuances. Love Reolink (and use it).
This product sits awkwardly in the middle -- ho-hum app with not great notifications. No continuous local recording. If my use case was really alert-based push notifications to my phone, Ring and such have much better timeline-scrub features to find events.
I would skip this.

I have these cameras, not the hub part, and the main constraint to understand is that these are not meant to record 24/7. Its basically meant to look at the still/unmoving scene and alert you when that scene moves. I have one at my back door that I don't want to run a wire to and no one uses. If there is actual motion back there especially at night, I want to know. This solves that issue. I didn't even need to mount the solar panel, battery is good for months and then I take them down to recharge and put them back in (ymmv).

I don't see the need for the hub if it's just where you record to, and set up wifi. The cameras have a memory slot for local video. I prefer just to add the single cameras to the app to access them and get alerts.
