I have two of these. The front camera FOV is NOT even close to 170°. It's actually about 95°.

I guess, as long as you're ok with the smaller front FOV, and the fact that it's really about 1080p, upconverted to 4k. If you don't mind that, it's a good price for a camera that gives you front/rear and GPS.

so do you think the smaller fov will still capture the left and right sides are only pretty much what's in front of you and barely anything on the corners?

Probably about equivalent to what your see through the windshield while sitting in the driver's seat. So it'll usually be good enough (until you come to a situation where it's not good enough).

My main complaint is why advertise false information?

I purchased this last time and it catches noteworthy events about twice a month. Someone try to cut me in line at McDonald's drive through the other day and there was an accident. Not sure whose fault it is but i'm pretty sure this video is gonna help me and get paid. Just enough of my evidence and at my view that it looks like they are a fault. Without the video the cop was definitely on their side.

where precisely did you find the best placement for this dashcam. right behind and the rear view mirror?

How does the GPS feature function? When I access the downloaded files, will it show the route on a GPS map overlay?

When you watch the videos in the app there's a small map window that plays along with it. When you download the video files it has the latitude, longitude, and speed as text at the bottom of the video. If there's anything else I haven't discover it yet.

Nice camera but the specs dont make sense. 4k camera using 5mp Sony starvis? Isn't 4k suppose to 8MP?
