Do you really miss those days? Really? Your pointer not moving because you need to remove the ball and clean off the rollers... not good memories.

Wow even 8BitDo has a PAW 3395 mouse now.

For those who don't know, a mouse is basically a plastic shell, some mechanical plastic components and a sensor on a mini PCB. PAW 3395 is a 'great enough' sensor for basically any mouse. Due to its low cost, basically any Chinese brand can sell a good gaming mouse for $15-25 shipped on Aliexpress.

Basically all the PAW 3395 mouse are the same. They only differ in mechanical differences. Effectively, this is another industry that Chinese OEM/ODM have completely destroyed. Gaming mouse will never be worth more than $20 these days. 8BitDo is charging quite a premium at $36 for this.

Since it matches my current NES keyboard, it is worth the extra few dollars to me.

If you're saying you don't get ASMR from recalling cleaning off all the dust, and the feeling of a nice clean mouse ball with smooth as silk operation, you're a damn liar

No, I don't. When I am using a mouse, I kind of prefer for it to just work.

Funny thing is, that at times cleaning a roller ball mouse was easier then trying to get stuff out of the sensor hole on the bottom of a modern mouse. It doesn't happen very often but if you an animal that sheds or get a glob of dust particles etc up in there it can be difficult to get them out.

in the 20 years that I've used a wireless optical mouse, I have never had an issue with debris getting lodged in the sensor channel

You simplified every mouse to its sensor. This is a retro themed wireless mouse with a dock and mechanical switches. Seems reasonable enough for the price.
