Been waiting for this to return to $999. Last few days the price has been $1089 or even $1149 so this reduction to $999 is good especially when the Amazon c,c. cash back for prime members is included.

Is this just a troll thread for you, or are you this dense? These are base models, the most bare minimum model you can buy (this is the 15", though they sell a 13" too). These are for people who don't get off on things like RAM and SSD numbers, hence "base model".

And what is it with apple haters constantly using this term "e-waste"? These machines will last longer and hold value better than any windows junk you can buy, but...e-waste.

Go port another ROM on XDA nerd.

"E-waste" is an insane take. 256GB is not ideal but it's totally usable for someone who isn't a power user, or for someone who wants to use it as a second machine.

I have 512gb on my 2020 mbp, and haven't went over 200gb on it in 4 years, so I agree 256 is adequate, but when I got my m4 mbp, I went with 512gb. With use of the cloud, 256 is plenty.
