This model has screen resolution of (1366 x 768). And they don't let you customize it.
Usually, you can pay $40 to $70 to get a better resolution.

I was absolutely able to upgrade the screen resolution along with the RAM,Storage, software, warranty, etc. Of course, these upgrades increased the price but they are available.

HP try to get rid of most low end laptops with 1366 x 768 resolution by offering just $20 discount in the daily laptop deals. You often see the 15 inch (15t-fd000 series) with the fixed resolution in the daily deal. The keyword is customizable or not. Most daily deals are not customizable with about $20 saving.

To save that $20 with no flexibility, t is not worth it. Rather, you can get $20 discount by using the $20 off $65 coupon (when you sign up for HP with an email acct.)

I think the point was that OP listed it at $380 and that is not the price that you are going to end up paying (no one in this day is buying a non Full HD screen). In fact, once you upgrade it to Full HD, 16GB and a 512GB hard drive you are over $500. You can get the Lenovo linked below at Staples with all those specs (except for the backlit keyboard) for over $100 less.

Or you can get an Asus with the same specs (including the backlit keyboard) and an even better processor at Staples for $429

I would not spend more than $500 to customize a low end HP laptop. When you customize the extra ram, extra hard drive and better resolution in HP site, the final cost would be $600 or more.

The low end HP laptop has a weakness and a positive point. The weakness is battery life.
For 15f-fd0000, probably 3 or 4 hours. The positive point is replacement battery is affordable, about $25. You can easily replace the laptop battery.
