The ingredients label isn't shown here but is on Amazon. Packed with sucralose and half a dozen other "not found in regular preserves" chemicals.

I bought this and used it once before tossing the rest. It does not taste good at all.

Seems like a good price, but is there really a need for Red 40 and Blue 1 in this?

Being a keto dieter I am fine with sucralose. Has never spiked my blood sugar.

However, this is filled with things like dextrose which is literally just sugar. This is not keto friendly or diabetes friendly. Choczero on Amazon makes a sugar free jelly that is actually sugar free. More money but worth the cost IMO

The ingredients you saw are polydextrose and maltodextrin. Polydestrose is much harder for your body to absorb than dextrose (glucose) so it has a low glycemic index and low caloric content. Chemists consider both sucralose and polydextrose to be sugars, dieticians do not. Hence this product can slap on a "sugar free" label despite containing them.

Maltodextrin on the other hand is not chemically a sugar, but easily converts to so much sugar that it actually has a higher glycemic index than plain sugar. That definitely doesn't belong in low calorie zero sugar food.

Exactly. At that point what is the point? Maybe better on your teeth and lower calories?
