5ah is listed at $248 sold by Amazon. Some third-party listings are a little cheaper but I don't see $200 anywhere. Still a good discount though.

I agree, but if you already have all the tools you need/want, 20–25% might be enough of a discount to offset the hassle of reselling a new tool you don't want.

Your goal is to find a tool you need with one of those batteries included on clearance sale. For example, Lowe's had a lawn mower with a 10 Ah battery on clearance sale for $499 last fall. I continue to kick myself for not just buying it then because the battery alone is worth more than that.

I justified paying $249 for the 18" chainsaw the other day by thinking about how the included 5.0aH battery alone would cost more. Wish I'd bought two more so I could have started learning to juggle.
