https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/t...9714/57401 generally speaking the q990d is slightly better across the board. Does that justify the price difference? Thats 100% subjective.

990 is 11.1.4. so you get two more sound chanels and two more Atmos channels .

the rears on this deal does not have atmost or upward firing speakers.

Search the site, i think i've seen the 990 on sale for $500-600 in the past. Also, bestbuy has really good deals on open box/display speakers if you get lucky. I bought a 800 series for $150

Speaking as someone who has used both, it's easily worth the price difference, for me. But I get it if people don't have another $200 +tax to spend. My math is based on it going on sale for $699 frequently, as of late. Atmos satellite speakers, which the Q990D has, do make a difference.

I guess it would have been better for me to reply to you, instead of the other person. Speaking as someone who has used both, it's easily worth the price difference to get the Q990D, for me. But I get it if people don't have another $200 +tax to spend. My math is based on it going on sale for $699 frequently, as of late. Atmos satellite speakers, which the Q990D has, do make a difference. Especially if you're in a larger room. You won't get the full Atmos experience with this. That's not to say this isn't still a great system.

If you don't have room for rears behind you and they have to be in front, (they could be mounted high), would this work, or even the 990d? I thought the whole point of ATMOS, was that it uses upward facing speakers to reflect the surrounds?
