Big news...today it was announced that the 100AH server rack batteries have successfully achieved both UL 1973 and UL 9540A listing, and current stock at the warehouse has the appropriate stickers affixed from factory, so orders from Eco Worthy website and Amazon will have stickers asap, with eBay sales by Sept. 22. They are aware of CEC listing and should apply there too shortly.

That is awesome news! I have a system in flight right now and was hoping these would get UL certification.
How did you hear about it?

What kind of fire protection is necessary with something like this? Does it need to be housed in a separate structure from your house?

If an electric bicycle battery can kill someone carrying it on an elevator, I can only imagine with something this big can do.

Different type of battery than the ones in electric bikes or cell phones or even most electrc cars. These are 100x safer and will not ignite. Of course if you have a house fire then these will burn too, but they don't start the fire. Look up Lifepo4 safety for more info.

I wish I am handy enough to replace our out-of-order outdoor gas generator, which I have been quoted $25k for replacing it, with this battery pack.

Buy this, then buy a EG4 or sunpowergold inverter and those can replace your generator.

This is currently the best deal going by kind of a long shot. But if you think batteries are cheap now, wait about six months. Battery production is WAY beyond demand right now, and solid state batts will make older tech obsolete, then you have Na+ batts already hitting the market. Prices are gonna be insane.
Sodium batteries won't be widely available in 6 months. Product development cycles are long. I think we are talking about 2027 as the year when most units sold will be sodium.

You can swap out an outdoor generator for about $8k that will outperform these batteries by a long shot. Generator installers are like used car salesmen. Buy it yourself, hire electrician to swap out the wiring . I just did my own whole house 18kw generator natural gas and it costs about $15k including permits, electrical, gas guys, excavation. If you just need to replace it should be much cheaper

Wow, 28.8KWh for under $5K. Wild. For reference, that's more capacity than two Tesla Powerwall 3 units and those cost around $10K EACH!
Pretty sure these aren't UL certified though.

here in CA where the net meter 3.0 means you are selling your surplus power generated during the day at almost 0 dollar back to the grid. you only option is to save those power to be used at night.

And since you have a natural gas well you're totally self sufficient too!
