This might only be for new kindle unlimited subscribers. Kindle unlimited offers this type of deal is periodically. Usually it is not an option if you are a current or recent subscriber. It might also be because Prime Big Deal Days are in October.

yes it didn't work for me, probably because I had the 3-month free trial earlier in the year.

My free trial just ended. No surprise. This gives me no option to get another trial for 3 months. I don't know how others get this when their trials just ended or still on a trial.

I always do these offers and I had this available jfyi.

I also wouldn't cancel right away unless you really have no intention of renewing. Often times they will give you an extension, I have seen 99 cent deals.
