I got a couple of these the last time they were on sale and I have to say that they are great. I have one in a cabinet that doesn't have a light and the moment I open the doors it comes on. I would definitely recommend if you have a dark space that needs motion detected lighting.

I find the battery does t last long enough. I have it in stairwell on way to basement and it lasts maybe 10 days of going down a few times per day at night. maybe that's a long time.e, but not for me.

Are these bi-color? They look like they're 5600-6000K.

the motion sensor part w/ controller is worth $5/ea, it would be relatively trivial to wire a bigger battery and/or use it to trigger something more complex

This is basically a normal price for these lights. Nothing to get thrilled about.

Could you plug this into a usb power bank and run it for months between charges?

I bought something similar and I have it in the garage that gets accessed a few times daily. The light lasts 2-3 months. The brand is mcgor.

I put these in my gun safe so that when I open it or reach in, it will light things up.

They are great in closets without lights, or in wardrobes too. Or places like basement/attic stairs as a backup light.

Do you like these otherwise?
At this price, if you like the amount of light, the pattern, and the color temp, I'd probably consider buying a second set. I could keep one charged or charging, then just swap as needed, rather than having to pull the dead light, charge it, and stick it back up when done. Still a bit of a hassle, but at $10 keeping an extra in rotation might be a solution for me. $10 vs $20 is not a deal breaker for me if the extra ten bucks makes them more convenient and the performance is satisfactory otherwise. Not suggesting anyone else should do this, just figuring out what I want to do.

That's been my experience, too. Mine don't even last a week, I feel like I'm constantly swapping them out.

S/he was referring to color temperature, which generally goes from Warm (yellowish) to Cool (white). Many LED lights allow you to choose the temperature/color.

That's because the motion sensor is constantly using electricity, even when no one is around. Turn off motion sensing and it should lasts longer.
