Samsung has been cancelling these any watch trading deals saying the trading offer is an error. You will probably get cancelled, but doesn't hurt to try.

Man, can I hire you to go around and tell everyone how much their products should cost? Big Grin

"How much is this car?"
"$65000"
"It's worth $20000. Not more."
"*sigh* You got me. OK..."

it's $159 with classic 6 trade in but I can't bring myself to do it - seems like a downgrade

I did this. Initially I hated the slightly smaller screen on the 8, but the screen quality is a lot better and the battery life is a HUGE improvement. The shape of the watch is also more ergonomic, so it's more comfortable on the wrist.

Overall I'm glad I upgraded. It's not a huge tech upgrade, but there's enough minor upgrades to make it worth it.

The SOC upgrade alone is worth it. I had the 6, it's so slow compare to the 8.

If you want to get a $50 code, chat will usually give it to you. If they say something like nothing is available, just tell them I will only buy it with the code, they may end up giving it to you. They try to turn me away in the beginning.

Can't get it below $299. Too much for an impulse buy.

My Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is getting a little long in the tooth, though, particularly the battery that struggles to last a full day unless I put it into battery saver mode.

Is there a model between W4C and W8C that I could upgrade to on the cheap using trade-in value?

These watches are built great, looks great too. Features are usually trend setting so I'm not sure why you think this watch worth $100.I have 2 years old watch still hold battery for ~3 days with most features ON. Battery saver mode can extent the battery but I don't mind charging it while working! It charges pretty quick too.

Did you mean that I can send it in for trade-in value regardless of its condition, even if it's not working?
