This thing kicks out way more heat than the older more expensive one I had. I liked it so much that when it went on sale last November (for about $1.00 less than it is here) I bought a second one to keep in reserve. I am still on the first one after a few years of use with no issues.
It does have a switch on the bottom where it will shut off it it gets knocked over.
My comments are more for the unit, not the price. It might get cheaper when the weather changes or near the holidays. I would say though that this thing cranks out way more heat than I expected.
