beautiful laptop but the one thing that made me return it was that the edges were metal and sharp. Hurts after hours of working.
I had the same issue with it. Really gorgeous though it ran hot, but the thing that I could not ignore was how sharp the edges were on my wrists. Returned and bought a G14 5070ti for similar price and enjoy that one much more. If you can get past the wrist shredders, this is a beautiful machine.
The G14 is a powerful little beast. Word of caution on the finish, if you get sweaty palms put some kind of cover on the keyboard deck. The finish on mine wore off in just a few months. I have never had a laptop do that.

Same here, bought a G14 for $2,000 on last sale....very well built machine.

I wanted the G16 but was not impressed with the deck flex and keyboard/trackpad layout. This Legion 7i has a brighter OLED display and seems much better built than the G16, but the sharp edges were a deal breaker too.

These are for gamers, not hours of typing. Why purchase something like this to do spreadsheets and word docs? They have notoriously horrible battery life as well. The GPU in this is not great for gamers either, so I can see why people return it. You have many other better options for productivity, no?
Had my 7i for the past week and love it. Tried out the Zephyrus G14 with the 5070ti but it wasn't any faster in Premiere Pro. Plus the G14 had an annoying touchpad rattle. Unacceptable at the price point so I returned it. I may try the G16 if it goes on sale before my 7i return period. I don't game at all but use the 7i for my CompSci and video game design courses. Battery life sucks with the GPU on, but switching to Intel integrated GPU-only in the BIOS nets 8-9 hours of battery life for light browsing and YouTube. The 7i has fantastic build quality and is gorgeous in glacier white.

G16 open box is about 2k.

I got an excellent condition and testing it. When I put on silent mode, it is dead quiet. Battery seen to be good. Will take it to a full test over the weekend.

lol c'mon man listen to what you're saying:

"it's fine that this laptop has super sharp edges that cut into your wrists because it's made for GAMERS, not TYPERS"

It's an egregious design flaw regardless of who the laptop was made for. Any laptop that cuts into your wrists from normal use is ridiculous.

You can just buy a keyboard wrist pad. Weird reason to return a laptop.

I haven't experienced anything like that while using the 7i. I actually find the keyboard and touchpad incredibly comfortable to use. My MacBook Pro sometimes cuts into my wrists, but haven't had that issue yet with the Legion 7i.

How is the battery life so far with general usage? and does it run warm in silent mode?

Battery is great. I set it to silent mode for both charging and battery, set to eco mode for graphic.

It was cooler than my LG gram when using on my lap. No heat from keyboard. I am so far very happy with the G14.

I haven't test on running any game yet, but what sold me is the portability and long battery life. My main purpose is for development not gaming.
