4060ti is a better card according to basically everyone's benchmarks.

It's Alienware but for about $100 more you can get a new desktop with a 5060.

It's still proprietary stuff...This year's models they finally listened and started using standard MBs and PSUs. But for a 14700 and a 4060ti you won't find a better price. Not even close.

I'm pretty sure GN did a review of this and it runs hot..might be for the 14900 though. This says it's water cooled and only a 14700 and I think it had to do with the fans tied to the CPU temp and not considering the GPU temp which cooked. I'm could be thinking of another prebuilt though

How does this compare to Costco's ultra 5 225 cyber power PC?

Not a deal. According to the website that's the 8GB version of the 4060Ti graphics card. That amount of RAM was great 8 years ago. Now, you're paying $900 for 1080p gaming in a 4k world.

What is proprietary about it? The GPU? The RAM? The CPU? The PSU?

the 40 series just wasn't a great one to begin with - seemed more of a product that 'kept it together' while they moved from 30 series (3080ti was great) to the 50 series (which is what 40 really should have been.)

From my experience (not a computer or gaming expert) I would stay away from these odd type cases. They have issues with ventilation and lack space for upgrades and additional drives.

There is not much choice in cases for prebuilts. They all have ventilation issues with gaming. You either go crazy adding fans or leave the door off. If aesthetics is important, i would build from scratch and get a good air flowing case.

You can do $75 to $100 better than this for this build with some patience.
