I had the same initial thought as the person asking, then figured your resolution as well. But you'd think it'd at least have a combination lock built in. But using it how you mentioned still works! Just hope delivery drivers will actually listen to the notes. Mine never do lol

If you want this for security, not having a built-in combination lock would be pretty annoying - both for the delivery person and when getting the package out. Plus the material and construction seems really weak.
This box would probably be fine if you just wanted weather/animal protection tho. Either way you'd want to securely attach it to something.
The last place I lived had something like this by the front door. It was pretty easy to set up delivery instructions in FedEx delivery manager, UPS my choice, and my Amazon account. All three had a way to specify the code in general instructions for delivering to my address, so I didn't have to specify the code to each shipper or each package. All three pretty consistently used it as long as the packages would fit.
I found it on Temu for a little less. I'm guessing it will ship from Amazon. I've had that happen a few times and the item prices were way less than what was on Amazon for that item.
I have something similar and we don't actually have a lock on it. the driver's pretty much always put packages in and it's mainly that they're out of sight of potential thiefs. it was pretty rare but that seems to have been the issue in our neighborhood, people driving around wearing a high vis vest, looking for packages to steal off porches. this mostly solves it.

I have one of these and I put a bunch of bricks in the bottom, with a piece of wood covering them so it doesn't look stupid (and also I don't have to bend over as far to get my package out). Keeps it from blowing away again.

Depends on how you handle it. We have an outdoor lock box in the back yard for stuff we do not want in the house (such as a 20# propane tank.) Sure, walk off with it.....after I put 4 50# bags of sand in the bottom??

And the driver leaves the package on top, takes a pic, CYA, shift over!
