It's hard to tell if this is a factory refurb, open box, used open box, or new open box. Has anyone purchased before that can advise which one? I want new and do not mind an open box.

These are customer returns. BB has a 15 day return policy so you're getting a watch that was worn, max, 15 days. I bought one this week and it's basically new, but the box had been opened. Still qualifies for AC+. It was purchased in late July

Thanks, OP. If I understand correctly that the AW10 through iOS 26 will get all (or almost all) of the health features of the AW11, this should be a really good deal. I just ordered one rated "excellent" from Best Buy for $249.99.

The AW10 deals are a great option for upgrading. The AW11 mainly adds 5G, but both share the same S10 chip. Some reports suggest the AW11's advertised battery life boost comes from a new measurement method by Apple, not an actual larger battery.

Not even "almost". S10 and S11 have 100% feature parity (https://www.apple.com/watch/compa...-series-10). Same chip, same display, same sensors, OS, apps, everything. The only change in the new version is 5G cellular and a slightly bigger battery. May be worth it to some people, but you have to charge it every day regardless, and so I'd rather get a 40% discount.
