Anyone know if hot water is in contact with plastic in these types of machines? I probably know the answer but figured I would ask. Worried about microplastics.

that is a fair question. I would hope there is at least some metal on the inside for the portafilter and the water that leads to it.

btw, this is sold by a third party vendor. Walmart also has a third party vendor which sells these for $250.

fwiw, I've had this machine for a few years now and I'm very happy with it. the first one I got stopped working after 10 ish months and ge promptly replaced it. The replacement is working great. I suggest you keep the steam spout clean or it will clog. Also it's quite noisy. otherwise a great machine.

FYA this is identical to the cafe affetto (owned by GE). I like mine but had to get a warranty replacement. It goes on sale fairly regularly for under 200.
