Yes. It's owned by Amazon and they use it for clearance and overstock or random items they aren't ready to sell to the bin stores yet.

I know these are top rated, would love to have one for my living room TV setup, but I can't help but think Samsung must have a 90 to 95% profit margin on these.

Why should an individual consumer care how much profit a company makes for a particular product? As a buyer, you just look at what's on the market, find what fits your budget, and go for the best bang for your buck. If you don't like it, you simply choose something else.

The retailers (in this case, Woot) are the ones making most of the profit in most instances. Manufacturers usually sell stuff to retailers for about 20-30% of the retail price (sometimes even less). That's why you'll sometimes see inexplicably good deals at retail stores on clearance items: You might just be paying what they paid for the item

Totally, these have huge margins; that's why they end up in around 600-700 range by thanksgivings.

If you think Samsung has high profit margin, I suggest you take a look at Apple. Samsung market cap~$500 billion, Apple market cap~$2.5 trillion, 5x more. Mind you, Apple only "designs" products, they are fabless - meaning they don't actually make any of their components in their products. Samsung is a fabricator of chips(memory, ssd, cpu) and displays(ones that apple uses.) Apple is worth 5 times more and make 5 times less products. Nvidia is the same, fabless, and worth some ~4T. Some perspective, Samsung's profit margins pale in comparison to the real greedy companies.
