The cost of motherboard and a G series CPU would more than double the price. Someone can pick up a cheap power supply on Facebook market place and used GPU for the price of the 5600G

The Patriot P400 Lite has mystery hardware and the PCIe 4.0 is probably mostly notional. Which doesn't matter much as the 5500 doesn't support PCIe 4.0 anyway. Board has 2 M.2 slots, so there's that.

My pick right now would be a 3060 Ti which are $200 used.

just bought it. this will go nicely with the $30 Lian Li Dan A3 wood panel case. just need to hunt down a decent power supply and gpu. The cooler should come with the thermal paste right?
