This is normal of most coffee makers. They test the grounds, so sometimes you'll see water or coffee grounds in the machines. Normal.

I have a fancier one, but this ones looks great for what I use mine for and wayyyyy cheaper than I paid for my refurb. don't buy the off brand, this or a delonghi.

I have a latte go one, i quit using the annoying cup and would rather have the frother. the latte thing doesn't work very well and you can do what you want with this one.

Philips owns both saeco as well as gaggia, all use the same internals originally created by saeco so will all be similar in terms of longevity. It is considered one of the best overall as far as that goes. It is extremely simple to maintain and service.

The 800 series actually does not come with a filter in the box, but does have a place for one. I just pour filtered water in to begin with and that makes the filters last an absurdly long time.
