It is a faux regular old lamb wool heavily used Persian rug, to be exact.

I got the green one. The best way to tell the quality of these rugs is by the items weight. This 5x7 one comes in at 8.1 lb which is very heavy compared to other comparable rugs of the same size which usually weigh about 3-4 lbs or so. Another great sign of quality for this rug is that it actually comes rolled up and not folded over like most competing rugs of the same kind and size (which leaves permanent increases). I have been shopping these rugs for a long time so trust me on all this. The rug is also completely waterproof and liquids pool on it as shown in the picture which is impressive. You aren't going to beat this rug for $10.
