The other items that I got for my house are pricier. The Dream Machine SE is currently $499 and the U7 Pro Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Access Point is $189 (You will need both if you are going wireless). But, like I said, if you use their store credit card they'll eat the sales tax. No longer to I have to ship to Oregon and then wait for my friend to come visit me with it!
Alternatively, you can do what I did and get the best of both worlds..you can just get a Unifi Gateway Max (no storage option, $200) and use it as the main router while my existing decos act as a mesh still in AP mode.

Deco control panel on the phones are very buggy, sometimes it takes the whole network down if you make a simple change. I am at a point where I am considering just getting individual routers as access points and giving them all different SSIDs so I can control which ones we are connected to and not rely on mesh to decide which one connects to. It's a headache but I think it might be the only way to make sure certain devices connect only to certain access points, because Deco can't manage that properly either even though there are settings to do that.

If you see the link, X55 Mesh with 3 units alone claims "Covers up to 6500 Sq.Ft" nowhere near this, yeah maybe it covers at super slow speeds, where NBA 2K26 update of few GB shows 6 hours on PS5, where my outdoor cameras like Wyze takes a long time to load, it's just not reliable. I really need to be sitting close (like above or next to) router to barely get 300mbps from my gigabit wifi and 2.4gigabit laptops with Wifi 6.
Sure X55 Mesh system is kinda outdated now but I got it 3 years ago or so, at first I thought it was the placement of the mesh units, so I moved them closer, didn't help so I bought outdoor unit and POE, wasn't enough coverage, I had to buy the ceiling unit for my garage, it's still not enough. The key is to sit near the mesh access points, moment you walk away or have walls in between, it's pretty bad. I am too far invested into this now to scrap and get new ones. Maybe if Deco makes someting more reliable and can allow me to use what I have in place already as mesh access point nodes, maybe I can consider getting another router that's compatible at some point.
